OBEY FIRST-DEFY LATER.
We often do defy the orders of our hireups raising reasons of its difficulties.
I asked my subordinate to take an additional charge in the event of others transfer.
He refuted furiously that let alone his present duties were cumbersome to afford with.
I know, his duties were over loaded; still I got unpleasant to his approach.

One another subordinate also was assigned with the similar charge.
With out raising any objections he accepted the duty.
I felt sympathy on him, I asked him to engage only urgent routine matters.
Also, I myself had assisted in discharging many of his current duties.
Later after some days, he requested me to relieve off him from the additional onus.
He cited his inconveniences to go ahead.
I did so; still I felt sympathy on him.

Both the juniors had done the very same thing, but their approach was different.

I recapitulated my prior experiences based on the above inferrences.
I saw my image like this.
In many occasions I had unnecessarily become obnoxious before my hire officers.
Not only for denying to take up hard ventures.
But also for discharging normal duties in time limit.
My approach to my superiors was like the ‘first man’ many a times.

This lesson I have learnt very late at my service.
I had been the ‘second man’ in my service in the remaining days of service.
That helped me to smoothen the rapport with my superiors.
That helped reduce tension and to alleviate ego clashes.
IT WAS WHAT OUR ELDERS SAID  “FIRST OBEY, THEN QUESTION”
